Cuvettes

Cuvettes come in different shapes, sizes and materials. Which cuvette is appropriate for your analysis depends on the measuring wavelength and the chemical properties of the sample and solvent.

Quartz cuvettes can be used at wavelengths between 200 to 2500 nm. Glass cuvettes are cheaper than cuvettes made of quartz, but only give a reliable result in the visible range (380 to 780 nm). Cuvettes made of PS and PMMA are disposable cuvettes and not suitable for organic solvents and only give reliable result between 300 and 900 nm.
